As soon as funds become available I would like to purchase a S&T Tavor 21 to be my secondary rifle. I like the bullpups because of the less strain on my left shoulder. I am open to other options but it needs to be light and I like only needing one magazine style, M4/M16.

They just came out with one that has a full metal gearbox now too.

I saw that, my fear is that it might be pot metal.

The gearbox metal for my S&T G36K is pretty solid so if its the same metal then you should be fine.

Is it worth the extra $40 to purchase the metal gearbox? You can find the green or tan one for $150 and the black for $130.

The other replicas that are possible are the L86/85, AUG, and P90. The problems with those are different magazines and possibly the weight. Any recommendations?

I know the JG Aug a3 that I had gotten from Scott was extremely heavy.

My buddy has a ICS L85 but it is heavy at 11 pounds, shoots great. I have used a P90 before they have no real weight to them but the mags are weird to store and reloading is a pain.

I do like the P90's but the magazines make it a really hard sell.

Just ordered the S&T with a metal gearbox. With the discounts from previous orders, free shipping, and a 12% coupon it made it the same price as most of the plastic gearbox TARs so I couldnt pass it up.
